This Months Favourite at Poco
Caparzo is one of the original 13 Brunello wineries and, almost uniquely, has vineyards in all the best areas giving their Brunello a real expression of the region. Ruby in colour with expressive aromas of wild berry fruit with floral hints, and earthy, minerally notes. The palate is dry, broad and firm with great structure and complexity, grippy, persistent tannins and a long length.

Sorì del Cascinotto is a single vineyard planted in 1971. Sorì del Cascinotto is also an official Cru, one of the 76 official Crus of the Appellation, which is known for producing some of the best expressions of the Dolcetto grape due to its unique microclimate. Concentrated ruby red colour with hints of violet. A ripe, full Dolcetto with wild berries, cherries and a hint of violet on the nose and palate. A long, velvety finish. Delicious
Dark ruby colour. Opulent nose with notes of black cherry, smoke, tobacco and liquorice. The palate is full of tension with a breadth and power that is unrivalled. In this exceptional wine, Barbera and Nebbiolo merge into a spectacular blend that is rich, powerful and has a beautiful, long final.
One of the rarest wines in the world, this vineyard is the size of two tennis courts. In an exceptional vintage, Château La Clarière takes a small amount of their finest grapes from their steep hillside vineyard and make a tiny amount of Presbytère. It’s a Grand Cru Classé super cuvée – a wine of immense depth, power and richness.
If you are looking for a white wine that has the complexity of red then this is it. Straw yellow in colour that reflects a tropical balanced profile. The scents are heady, intense and refined, you pass by fruity notes of nectarine and citrus to beautiful shades of menthol and minerals, then enriched with smoked nuances. Intense and fruity, warm feeling, but fresh and vital for the proper intake of acidity.
Unoaked but several months ageing on lees does grant this some nice weight and texture. The nose ripe peach and mango with a touch of spice. The palate is well rounded with a crisp almost saline finish.
